Derrek S. Lennox, P.Eng, MBA

Principal

Derrek has built a reputation as a strategy and operations business and management consultant. He began his career with a large consulting firm and expanded it through several smaller boutique firms before establishing Derrek S. Lennox Consulting Services (DSLCS) in late 2003. In 2006, he and Hector Dougall co-founded The Margin Doctors, Business & Management Consultants, dedicated to entrepreneurs and the owners of small businesses. Derrek's background has been versatile with projects ranging from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Contact/Call Centre Projects with large corporate clients, to multinational multi-client strategy research projects, to strategy and organizational design projects with entrepreneurial firms.

Throughout his career, Derrek has encouraged and nurtured client success by paying close attention to the communication linkages between groups of individuals and developing mechanisms to create alignment. He specializes in business planning, organizational design, performance measures, scorecards, culture change management, process improvement, and policy development.

Derrek believes strongly that business strategies should be focused on delivering value to the customer and not just on how organizations can benefit from a given market condition. To do this effectively, efficiently, profitably and sustainably (to the degree possible), the organizations’ and employees’ goals must be aligned. He has been published in Business 2.0 for his commentary on business models with a customer focus.

Derrek holds an MBA degree from Schulich school of Business at York University (Silver Medal Recipient), and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is a licenced Professional Engineer (Ontario).

Brian has more than 20 years of business and management consulting experience experience in business and management consulting including several with KPMG. He has experience in financial services, retail, pharmaceutical, health care, manufacturing, natural resources, hospitality, professional services and public sector.
