DSLCS was established out of client need. Each practice area and offering has grown from a specific client challenge and in many cases translated - within the context of maintaining client confidentiality and privacy - to benefits for other clients. Our offerings fall within three categories:
Risk Assessment
Performance Management
Continuity Planning

Business Risk Assessment

This assessment has been done on behalf of investors, owners and financers. It has also been done for entrepreneurs as an internal assessment of their own organization.

These engagements begin with an analysis of the business systems, the business environment, of relationships with key stakeholders, and the leadership team. The outcome of this analysis is a thorough understanding and appreciation of the risks that the business may be exposed to - and in many cases unaware of the severity of the risks at present.

Performance Management

We gather feedback from your employees on the current process and their readiness to adopt certain key best practices through a "quick scan."

From this initial assessment, we work with your stategy and/or performance team to outline, tweak, and re-implement a process that incorporates your own elements, industry best practices, key elements of the TPS process, and make it "your performance management process."

We have also assisted companies facilitate and execute elements of their performance management process, but we tend to stick to train-the-trainer and follow-on audits rather than full implementations in order to ensure that ownership of the process remains with you, the client, rather than with us.

Business Continuity Planning

One issue that consistently arose through both the Risk Assessment and the Performance Management "Quick Scan" was the lack continuity planning. While there are several definitions of this, what we mean by continuity planning is simply this: "having a plan that lets the business continue when key people are not able to perform their role or functions."

This process can and often contains succession plans, key-man insurance, short-term coverage plans, vacation coverage policies, and health benefits geared to key roles.

This practice area is becoming recognized as extremely important in all business, but predominately in family run businesses where a death in the family can greatly impact the business performance in both the short and the long term.

For information on any of the above practice areas, please do not hesitate to contact us.
